Alliance Captains, Stuart Brierty and Leah Percy and Alliance Women’s Head Coach, Justin Creighton have sparkled on the international stage while in New Zealand for the 2016 Trans-Tasman – with the trio walking away with the gold!

Brierty, Percy and Creighton have been there from the beginning. The trio have travelled far and wide representing the Alliance in not only the teal and white but the green and gold. Brierty was ruled out of the 2016 National Touch League due to injury, while Percy showed promise and true committment in her performance under Creighton’s guidance. Stu and Leah were also given the honour to Captain both the Australian Men’s and Women’s sides in a warm-up match versus Japan in New Zealand. Stu was named in the Australian Men’s Open Team and was also named Ron Hanson medalist for this years Trans-Tasman, only sweetening the series win for the Alliance Mens Captain. Having made his Trans-Tasman debut in 2009, Stu had not missed a series since. His experience on the international stage is of great benefit to the Alliance Men’s performance, while being sorely missed at the 2016 NTL.

Leah was named in the Australian Women’s Open Team after earning her position at the 2016 NTL. Leah showed composure, strength and speed throughout the series and also managed a few touch downs! As a regular in the Australian camp, Leah is a highly valued member of the Alliance program.

Justin was apart of the Australian Mixed Open Team, in the role of Assistant-Coach. Having continued his Australian winning streak from the 2015 FIT World Cup, Justin’s knowledge and expertise is something the Alliance athletes truly value.
